Pelham incorporated in 1964 and grew up along US-31 and I-65. It’s home to Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama’s largest state park, and it’s where Shelby County’s first county seat, Shelbyville, once stood.
Most of Pelham’s neighborhoods were built from the 1980s on, so its garage doors run from 30-year-old originals to doors put in last year. We work on all of them.
We cover the 35124 ZIP code, which Pelham shares with Indian Springs Village.

Off-Track Doors, Sensors and Springs
A door that comes off its track is one of the more dangerous problems a garage door can have. It usually starts with something else: a broken cable, a worn roller, or a car bumping the door. The door can twist or drop, so leave it where it is, unplug the opener and call us. We put the door back on track and fix whatever knocked it off.
If your door starts down and then reverses for no reason, the safety sensors near the floor are often out of line or blocked. Sometimes that’s a quick adjustment; other times a sensor or its wiring needs replacing. We test the whole system so the door closes reliably and still stops if something is in the way.
Call us if you notice:
- Rollers out of the track, or the door hanging crooked
- The door reverses before it touches the floor
- A blinking light on the opener or the sensors
- A loud bang from the garage and a door that won’t lift
- Daylight under one side of the bottom seal
- The door shakes as it opens
Most sensor problems are simple fixes. An off-track door is not, so don’t try to force it.
What We Repair and Install
Everything below is work we do in Pelham, from a single spring to a whole new door and opener.
Broken Garage Door Springs
Broken or worn springs can make your garage door extremely heavy or prevent it from opening altogether. A loud bang, visible gap in the spring, or door that suddenly becomes difficult to lift can all point to a spring problem.
Garage Door Spring RepairGarage Door Opener Problems
If the opener runs but the door doesn’t move, the remote stops responding, or the door reverses unexpectedly, the opener or one of its connected components may need repair.
Garage Door Opener RepairBroken or Frayed Cables
Garage door cables work with the springs to safely lift and lower the door. A loose, frayed, or broken cable can cause the door to hang unevenly and should be repaired before the door is operated again.
Garage Door Cable RepairWorn Rollers & Damaged Tracks
Worn rollers, bent tracks, or loose hardware can cause the door to shake, grind, squeak, or move unevenly. Repairing these components can restore smoother and quieter operation.
Garage Door Track & Roller RepairGarage Doors Off Track
A door can come off its tracks because of damaged rollers, broken cables, impact, or another mechanical failure. An off-track door can be unstable, so it should be inspected before you try to move it.
Off-Track Garage Door RepairDamaged Garage Door Panel
Dents, cracks, or impact damage don’t always mean the entire garage door needs to be replaced. Depending on the damage, an individual panel may be repairable or replaceable.

Common Questions
Do you cover Indian Springs Village too?
Yes. Indian Springs Village shares Pelham’s 35124 ZIP code, and we serve both.
My garage door came off the track. What should I do?
Leave it where it is, unplug the opener, keep cars and people clear, and call (205) 907-8179. An off-track door can twist or fall, and pushing the rollers back in without fixing the cause usually means it comes off again.
Why does my garage door go down and then back up?
Usually it’s the safety sensors. If they’re out of line, dirty or blocked, the opener reverses to be safe. Make sure nothing is in the way and the small lights on both sensors are on. If it still reverses, call us and we’ll find the cause.
If one spring breaks, should I replace both?
On a door with two springs, usually yes. The other spring has made the same number of trips and often isn’t far behind, and replacing both keeps the door balanced and saves a second visit. We’ll check it and tell you what we recommend.
